New Album: With You Now

Finding their own sound within electronic soul music, Will Brock & Sumsuch is a partnership of talented veterans from two distinct fields. Having previously released album ‘Ten Letters From Home‘ on BBE as Mega Jawns, this new collection sees them step out from behind that alias and establish a unit that both plays to their individual strengths and proves to be superior to the sum of its parts. Sharing songwriting duties between them, this album represents a radical departure from their studio based debut. Famed UK deep house producer and DJ Will Sumsuch wrote much of the music on guitar and brought a detailed ear to the arrangements. In a much more considered manner to their vivid and spontaneously recorded first, this album saw Will Brock studiously write and rewrite his lyrics and soulful vocal arrangements around Sumsuch’s acoustic jams. Each album shows two different sides to their catalysing partnership. But this second is more reflective of a deeper trust, understand...

Mega Jawns - If I (Out Now)

My transatlantic partnership Mega Jawns drops a new gem today, featuring a very special remix from Grand Rapids techno master, Myles Sergé. Grab a listen below! Following their stunning debut LP Ten Letters From Home, released last year on BBE, the Philadelphia / Brighton duo of songwriter Will Brock and producer Sumsuch have been hard at work on new material. A second album is already in the can and their 'Shine' EP was released on Sumsuch's Colour and Pitch label in early 2015. London House legend Booker T's remix of 'Joy' is currently on heavy rotation at London's MiSoul radio, so it's high time we revisit some other highlights from the record. 'If I' is an introverted soul gem penned by Brock about the breakup of a relationship, laid bare over Sumsuch's understated deep house production. On remix duty we enlisted U.S. techno wizard and self described 'reclusive perfectionist' Myles Sergé. A fixture at legendary Berlin clubs ...

Sumsuch - Shine feat. Will Brock

Since collaborating on ‘Simpatico’, the debut release on Colour and Pitch, US soul-man Will Brock and label boss Sumsuch’s transatlantic partnership has truly blossomed. As ‘Mega Jawns’, their album ‘Ten Letters From Home’ was released in 2014 on BBE Records, with a second album due for release in 2016. Written and recorded in just one night in West Philadelphia during summer 2014, Shine is a spiritual, afro-tinged Deep House track, featuring soaring vocals and life-affirming lyrics from Will Brock. Having created a truly unique remix for their debut single ‘Simpatico’, it seemed only right to ask aloof production maestro Q-Burns Abstract Message to do it again for ‘Shine’. Effortlessly defying genre tags as usual, his version is a tripped out, deeply touching and achingly beautiful piece of electronic music. Colour and Pitch regular Finest Wear delivers a vintage Deep House reworking, full of light, languid pads over a warm bass-line and masterful drum patterns. Closing out th...

Sumsuch - Find Home (feat. Matty Eeles)

After an insanely busy year, I've finally made it back into the studio with longtime friend and collaborator Matty Eeles. Our hilariously long-winded attempts to make an album continue, but in the meantime, enjoy! 'Colour and Pitch founder Sumsuch has had a busy year, with his ‘Mega Jawns’ project releasing their debut album on BBE Records last autumn. Finding some time to focus on solo material in 2015, he’s returned to the studio with long time friend and collaborator Matty Eeles, working (slowly) towards an album. ‘Find Home’ is a melodic, warm and languid slice of Deep House, with a typically stellar vocal performance from Matty Eeles. A ‘Voxtramental’ mix is also included, retaining an ethereal vocal refrain whilst bringing Sumsuch’s subtle musical touches into sharper focus.' Buy on Beatport iTunes Juno or Traxsource
